Medical Congress Exhibit
The challenge: Construct multiple iPad programs that promote two different products & brands, includes quiz questions that are specific to each medical congress, collects anonymous user data and sends to a third-party system, includes remote content updating, and has a charity donation component.
The Solution: We chose to develop a single iPad quiz program with a robust Content Management System (CMS) that managed all quiz questions. The CMS included a feature-rich calendaring and content organizational system that allowed for each medical congress to have its own set of questions. The iPad software was designed to support two different graphic designs, specific to that product’s branding elements. For data collecting, we collaborated with the third-party’s engineers to develop a custom API.
For the project to succeed communication was essential, so I immediately created twice-weekly meetings between us and each brand’s agency. I also created graphic design wireframes and specifications that were strictly adhered to by all parties. I worked closely with the client to ascertain their exhibit needs and content management requirements. These parameters were executed within the custom CSM system.
The Results
On the surface, the program seemed very simple. The on-site staff would select which show and product they needed, and the software would pull the data remotely and be ready to go. Behind the scenes it was a different picture: different brands, different questions, a third-party data collecting, and a custom-built CMS system made it all work seamless. Yet, despite all these variables, the project ran smoothly with very few hiccups during development. The client was incredibly pleased and continued to use the software beyond its original planned execution.
